Artist's Description
Crowns are the largest pigeons in the world. They got their name after a conspicuous crowning on the head. The crown of the eagle is typical of a very well developed crown with large "eyelids". It lives in the northeast of Papua New Guinea. It inhabits humid lowland and flooded forests. It creates smaller groups of two to ten birds. In many places, the crowns were completely defiled, hundreds of individuals crossed the hands of Asian merchants. It is threatened by their intense hunting and the interests of traders. Crochers are included in the second category of the CITES international convention.
