Description
Diamond pigeon
Geopelia cuneata
Origin The diamond pigeon originates only in Australia and has a large distribution through the interior of the whole of Australia. It has a large distribution area and therefore there is no chance of extinction.
Food This pigeon likes to eat all kinds of seeds and green food. They also occasionally eat a small worm or a kidney egg.
Behavior This little dove is often seen in people at home in an aviary. He is very social and can easily use other (small) bird species.
He owes his name to the speckles on his gray wings, which look like diamonds.
