Description
Climate change in Europe is beginning to manifest itself in the locations of butterflies and dragonflies. Scientists have found that the darker colored insects are beginning to move north, and their place occupies lighter colored species from the south of Europe.
For example, some dragonflies typical of the Mediterranean region have been observed in northern Germany or even in the UK. Among them, for example, a cannibal head or a yellow-and-white colored butterfly of Mannov.
Like lizards or snakes and insects, their coloring is used for thermoregulation and absorption of energy from the sun. Dark-colored insects are able to absorb more sunlight than light-colored insects. Therefore, dark butterflies and dragonflies tend to occur in colder regions and areas with a higher number of sunny days and higher temperatures dominate rather lighter species.

Cool capture. Just read your description on the effects of climate change and how it is affecting these insects. Very interesting and yes, rather sad. L/F
